- Surround. Tile around the firebox opening, with or without a hearth.
- Floor to ceiling. The fireplace face tiled top to bottom.
- Full wall. The whole wall, fireplace included.
Heat And Weight
Tile and stone near a firebox go on a proper backer with setting materials made for the heat, and the clearances your fireplace maker lists still apply. If it is a gas insert, bring the model number to the measure.
Stacked stone and large porcelain panels are heavy. We check what the wall is built from before we hang anything on it.
